I chose to capture different images of doorknobs in Bannack. I loved how unique each doorknob was and how the surroundings all had different looks and textures. I loved that I was able to find different angles to shoot so that each one had it’s one look and feel to it.

Portraits

For these portraits, I decided to use the same three subjects but get a variety of poses, alignment, and color. I was able to learn that the further away I placed my subject to the background, the more blurry I could get the background to be. One of the challenges I had was during the candid shots, I needed to stay focused on their faces even if they were moving, laughing, etc. I loved that I could take one person and I could make each shot look different by changing the composition, lighting, and location. Then in the end when editing the photos, I can enhance features and make them look like their best self!

Creativity: Closeup and Personal

This week I was able to attach a macro tube to my camera so that I could get very close and sharp images of different subjects. I love how much detail can be seen when being able to get so close to something. The challenging part was to be in the exact place at the right time so that the focal point was indeed in focus because any sort of movement would ruin the picture. The way I was able to get what I wanted in focus was to use the zoom on my lens, and lean backwards and forwards until I was in the right spot. My favorite picture is the top one of just a water drop. It took the most work because it seemed impossible to get that drop to be in focus, but it was so worth it!
